Space Jam: A New Legacy, the continuation of the legendary sports comedy of the 90s with Looney Tunes characters, is getting a video game connection. Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game will launch exclusively on July 1st as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks program. According to a press release, it will be “still available” on July 15th.
The game is a pixelated beat-’em-up from Digital Eclipse that is reminiscent of arcade games from the 90s when the first movie came out. Stills from the game show, part of the cast of Space Jam: A New Legacy. There’s LeBron James, who stars in the new film, along with Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny. We can see James beat up a robot with a whirlwind uppercut and kick Bugs in the air. (Not nerdlucks though, the antagonists from the first one Space Jam Movie, are in sight for the time being.)
Space Jam: A New Legacy is the continuation of the original Space Jam
The original Space Jam and all of the marketing has been tinged with nostalgia ever since. If the first Space Jam came out, Warner Bros. unrolled an advertising website that lives on to this day. The game continues the tradition of the bizarre companions of the new film series.
