So it is fitting that the Star Wars franchise is giving a wave of Japanese creators the chance to traverse the galaxy far, far away in the upcoming anthology series. Visions. Lucasfilm gave fans a first look at the series slated for this fall at Anime Expo 2021 on Saturday. The studios involved include Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio (Twin Engine), Studio Colorido (Twin Engine), Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru and Production IG.
“Every one of those studios we turned to we found hardcore Star Wars fans,” said Jacqui Lopez, executive producer of Lucasfilm, in the Sizzle role. “They all had a story to tell.”
Here is the full breakdown of the shorts that will premiere within the series:
Kamikaze Douga – The duel
Geno Studio (Twin Engine) – Lop and Ochō
Studio Colorido (Twin Engine) – Tatooine Rhapsody
Trigger – The Twins
Trigger – The oldest
Kinema citrus – The village bride
Science Saru – He agreed
Science Saru – T0-B1
Production IG – The ninth Jedi
“It’s basically the story of twins of the dark side,” said Trigger’s Hiroyuki Imaishi of his episode. Taku Kimura describes his short film “Tatooine Rhapsody” as a “rock opera film”.
