Here’s the problem with the Galactic Empire: Emperor Palpatine and his authoritarian military will wipe out entire planets to maintain control of the galaxy, but they also have very good artistic direction! The Imperial design team really nailed the whole monochromatic Brutalist thing. And thanks to a new partnership with Lucasfilm, Secretlab, providers of premium gaming chairs, are taking full advantage and getting into the dark side of the Star Wars business.
Created in partnership with Lucasfilm, Secretlab’s Star Wars Imperial Collection draws on 45 years of Star Wars concept artists and production design – by actual artists, not Imperial stooges – to create a line of chairs for the aspiring Star Destroyer captain. Star Wars fans have two options: the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Stormtrooper Edition in gloss white or the Empire Edition, which exudes more Darth Vader vibe. According to Secretlab, this new collection again prioritizes the type of ergonomics required to play Battlefront II
The Secretlab Star Wars team is part of Bring Home the Galaxy, a larger push by Lucasfilm to wallpaper the city with fan-friendly items that are a little more unusual. From sunglasses to high-end LEGO builds to a shoot on a Hawaiian shirt, everything seems to get its Star Wars version, and the gamer’s chair was a welcome inevitability.
The Star Wars Imperial Collection is available now at the Secretlab website.
