Some Stardew Valley Fans feel vindicated today after the game’s creator Eric Barone confirmed on Twitter that the left-to-right harvest was faster than the right-to-left harvest. Apparently this bug is finally being fixed after being in the game since its release in 2016.
Since 2022, Stardew Valley Fans have been waiting for update 1.6. And even though it’s been a while, we know the big update – which adds new content, fixes old bugs and makes the game easier to mod –will be released on March 19th for PC
On March 12 Barone tweeted a single image shows a patch note that will be included in Update 1.6 on March 19th. It simply says:
- Fixed bug where harvesting from left to right was faster than right to left
If you are not Stardew Valley Player, you may not understand what this means. Of course, it was quicker to harvest things from one direction than another. What’s the big deal?
Well, for Years and years now have fans shared videos This has shown this to be true, but it has not been 100% confirmed by either Barone or previous patch notes. As a result, some fans weren’t entirely convinced that it was faster and simply assumed that the animation looked different depending on how you shot it. But no! Harvesting from left to right was actually slightly faster, and that was due to a long-standing bug.
When asked if this bug had appeared in the game since its release, replied said Barone: “As far as I know, yes.” The creator of the popular life simulation then explained why this was so. “The left-facing crop animation was 100ms longer than it should have been,” Barone said. Now harvest from right to leftOnly as fast as from left to rightends a Stardew Valley Conspiracy theory this had been going on for almost a decade.
We can all sleep now knowing that soon, when 1.6 releases on March 19th, harvesting will be the same speed for all players regardless of direction. Finally.
