Valve’s popular portable PC, the Steam deckis currently on sale ahead of the company’s upcoming Steam Summer Sale. You can currently buy the powerful gaming device for cheaper than a standard Switch or Switch OLED.
Since its launch in 2022, Valve’s handheld computer gaming device the Steam Deckwas a huge success for the company and helped usher in a new era of portable gaming PC devices from other companies. But while these more expensive devices, like the ROG Ally, have had some success, Valve’s Steam deck
On June 24, Valve announced that the two models of the original Steam Deck will be 15% off until July 11. This means you can pick up a 64GB Steam Deck for only $297 or a 512GB Steam Deck for $381
Remember, these are brand new Steam Decks. Technically, if they are in stock, You can pick up refurbished versions of these same Steam Decks directly from Valve for even less. But these are used and not always in stock.
Also, keep in mind that these are Steam Deck devices that use LCD screens. I own one of these and I like it, but the screens are not nearly as vibrant or impressive as the ones on the Steam Deck OLEDthat also weighs less, runs cooler, and has a bigger battery. But these OLED devices cost a lot more than those discounted Steam Deck LCD models, so for those looking to get into PC gaming on a budget, this is still a solid sale and a great opportunity.
In the meantime The Steam Summer Sale starts on June 27 and runs through July 11. Valve says your Steam Deck LCD should arrive within a week, so if you pick one up, you’ll be ready for the upcoming summer sale and all the discounts that come with it.
