The latest batch of Pokémon Games, Brilliant diamond and Shiny pearl, experience a handful of stupid mishaps. While duplication Glitch is something that players take advantage of, there’s one more glitzy problem players encounter that is just plain weird: their monsters’ nicknames are being replaced with something completely different.

Twitter users Glitch dinosaur posted a short video of her gabite developing into a garchomp. It’s not unusual. Pokémon constantly evolving. What is strange, however, is that the monster’s nickname was changed even before development was even complete. Originally called “Girlboss”, the monster’s name was replaced by “Mike” during its transformation. Oddly enough, Mike didn’t get stuck as the girl boss’s nickname came back after a brief moment.
This is not the only instance of a Pokémon‘s nickname is being scrubbed away. Twitch streamer Tony papa encountered the same bug while playing Brilliant diamond. After calling his Lickitung “Bertha”, Tony giggled at the sight of the Gen 1 in utter confusion Pokémon
