Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a really, really big game filled with hundreds of characters, ships, planets and weapons, all drawn by everyone war of stars movie ever made. But as for life war of stars Nerd, I’m very adept at picking things up that I love, and after thinking about it for some time, I came up with a list of seven characters that should be included as playable characters in this latest, greatest war of stars Adventure.
It should be noted that for this list I’ve (mostly) avoided complaining about missing characters from the TV shows, comics, or other non-movie media. It’s very clear that TT Games has focused almost exclusively on the live action Skywalker saga Films in creating his character roster. While I’m sad that we don’t have Cad Bane, Thrawn, or Aphra, I understand why.
However, there are still some characters that appeared in the films, even with speaking roles and names, that didn’t make it as playable characters.
So, with all that out of the way, here’s my list:
Garindan (The Imperial Spy)
This is probably the saddest omission on the list. Back in the old Lego Star Wars games, This muzzled alien spy was a boss you fought episode IV campaign. Flash forward to 2022 and the release of Skywalker saga and not only is he no longer a boss, he’s not even a playable character. That’s quite a downgrade. We’re sorry, Garindan.
Quinlan Vos
Technically, Quinlan Vos hardly shows up The Phantom Menance, appeared in the background of a scene on Tattooine. In the film he has no name and no dialogue. However, over the years that followed, he was given a name, a backstory, and transformed into a Jedi, who would eventually appear in numerous comics, books, and even The Jedi clone wars animated show. And he already has a Lego figure. What I’m saying is please add this cool Jedi via a DLC pack.
agent collar
I don’t want to throw too many more Jedis on this list because Skywalker saga already has a ton of these so who needs another. However, agent collar
Elan Sleazebaggno
Yeah, the deathstick guy from Episode II should be in this game. Come on! He’s got a speaking role, sort of a character arc, and he’s in a memorable little scene. Sure, he never officially got a Lego minifigure. But I don’t think that should keep poor Sleazebaggno out of the game entirely. Especially if TT Games is ok including a (possible) murder droid. Someone even petitioned for the man’s admission. It got less than 25 signaturesbut still… someone cares.
Joh Yowza
Sy Snootles and Max Rebo are there Skywalker sagabut Joh Yowza not? Too bad TT Games… too bad. Maybe you’ve finally picked up Yaddle, and I thank you for that, but don’t break up the Max Rebo band. I know we hate everyone”Jedi rock‘ but we can’t blame Yowza for that all these years later.
Grebleips
The Asogians were a species that was part of the Galactic Republic during the era of The clone wars. If they look familiar, that’s because they’re a direct nod to the film ET and are designed to look like the main alien. Grebleips technically appears in a scene at a moment you’re going to miss Episode I. And yes, his name is Spielberg spelled backwards. war of stars is stupid. We’re sorry. Doesn’t matter. Forget this one.
Matt the radar tech
Okay, that would never happen, but considering how many random references to things like South Park better call Saul and out of stock found in this game, I was shocked that they didn’t contain a funny nod to one of the best and most popular SNL Sketches of the last decade.
