This week’s best gaming deals
The momentous occasion is imminent: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom coming out in less than a week, Friday May 12th. It’s the biggest game of 2023 and the biggest launch for Nintendo Switch in years.
I’m sure many of you reading this have pre-ordered the game. If you haven’t already, there’s still time to grab a physical or digital copy in time for release day. After the jump, stay tuned on how you can save some money on your purchase.
You can save on yours Tears of the Kingdom Pre-order when you subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online, the $20-a-year service that lets you play online, play NES and SNES games, get access to game DLC and trials, and back up your saves to the cloud .
The service gives you the opportunity to purchase a double pack of digital game vouchers $99.98so you can save $30 on your purchase Tears of the Kingdom (usually $69.99) plus another game for $59.99. You can see the full list of eligible games here. You can keep coupons for up to a year, but remember you must be a subscriber to redeem your coupon.
Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorLast week’s buggy launch overshadowed how good this game is. But now that Respawn and EA have patched the game to improve its performance, it’s easier to recommend you buy it. If you liked the prequel, Jedi: Fallen Order (play that first if you haven’t already), there’s a lot more to love here, and you can get a $10 gift card if you buy it Amazon or Goal. That’s not quite as good as the $10 discount we saw earlier this week, but it’s a solid giveaway nonetheless.

If you are a PS5 owner who bought Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PS4 anytime, digitally or on disc, you can Sony pays $10 to get the remastered version. Previously, the remaster was bundled into it Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition at the launch of the PS5 in 2020.
There are some caveats: if you own the game on disc, you’ll need to put it into your PS5 every time you want to play the digital remaster. And if you claimed an edition of the game with your PlayStation Plus subscription (in other words, if you didn’t specifically purchase the game), you’re not eligible for that upgrade price. You have to pay $49.99 to get the remaster.

This week, Star Wars fans celebrated May the Fourth, and retailers also slashed prices on all types of Star Wars gear. Luckily, many of our May Fourth deal picks are still happening, including Best Buy’s tiny price cut for its very cool (and exclusive) Steelbook 4K Blu-rays for every film in the original trilogy. Usually $30, you can snag any of them $27.99
If you like the idea of watching Hong Kong action movies with a female cast, you should check this out In the line of duty franchise releasing on Blu-ray this month. For one thing, it’s full of familiar faces, like Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen, and it just kicks so much ass. Also, it will be sold ahead of the May 16 launch date $54.99 (originally $99.95)
This collection includes four movies on four discs, plus lots of special features and commentary. you will get Royal warriors, Yes Madam!, In The Line of Duty 3And In The Line of Duty 4.
It’s always a good time to bag the groundbreaking anime film, ghost in the shellwhich is available on 4K UHD Blu-ray (it also includes a 1080p Blu-ray as well as a 4K digital copy) for only $13.99 (originally $22.99). The film just wrapped up its 27th anniversary at the end of March, but it still feels fresh. This publication was published on the occasion of his 25th birthday.
