Our Midgar-raised, magic-wielding flower girl is quite adept at this whole magic business. Equipped with the right staff, Aerith can not only ascend to wreak dramatic havoc on your enemies, but she can also keep your party healthy through her limit breaks and very high magic stats.
As with every character in Final Fantasy VII RebirthYou should Search for every weapon for every character so they can learn each weapon’s unique abilities. But after scouring the planet for each of Aerith’s staffs, which ones should you rely on for late-game fights and repeated Hard Mode playthroughs?

I’ve picked out three rods for you, from the late-game Gambanteinn to the earlier-game Timeless Rod, and will give you tips on how to get the most out of each of them and how to properly level them up with upgrades.
Is Gambanteinn Aerith’s best employee?
Gambanteinn is the last weapon you can acquire for Girliepop. It has a nice number of Materia slots, a decent bonus to magic, and looks pretty snazzy (though it kind of looks like it could be made into something like Xenoblade instead).
Unfortunately, Gambanteinn is far from the best choice for Aerith, but you can get a lot out of it depending on what you put into your weapon upgrades.
My preferred configuration for this staff is to equip ATB Charge Rate Up to fill Aerith’s gauges even faster (which allows you to start laying wards that only enhance Aerith’s many combat abilities), followed by Magic Attack Power +20 and then Reprieve. The latter (which is also available via the Ceremonial Staff – more on that in a moment) gives Aerith a free bonus if she falls unconscious and revives her with 1 HP.

This may not sound like much, but if you’re quick, it can save you from a Game Over screen. This is where the other upgrades come in, as our girl has a faster ATB charge rate and greater magic damage (note: all of Aerith’s attacks count as magic damage). You can use this faster ATB charge rate to fully heal Aerith and her companions again. or
Magically melt your enemies with the Feather Wand.
The Plumose Rod is the clear winner, as it turns our red-jacketed friend into a devastatingly powerful offensive sorceress. And since Aerith’s best skills are magic, the Plumose Rod is arguably the best weapon for her, period.

The Plumose Rod has a generous amount of Materia slots and becomes Aerith’s magical damage up to the 400s. Yes, it rocks.
What the Plumose Rod doesn’t give you, however, are upgrade abilities to increase magic damage, at least not directly. You should at least equip her with Max HP +200 to make her a bit more robust in combat. Add to that the Enduring Ward upgrade to increase ward duration by 25 percent, indirectly making her a more powerful sorceress. You then have the choice to go for Ward Shift Mastery if you use Ward Shift (the ability that brings Aerith back to her wards) a lot. But I’d go for Enhanced Tempest, her secondary attack that is activated by holding down the Square button.
Double the healing and buff with the Timeless Rod
If you have Aerith’s status as healer and as a supporting character you should choose the Timeless Rod or the Ceremony Staff.

The Timeless Rod gives you fewer stat bonuses, but you can equip Altruistic Recovery +10% as a weapon upgrade, which increases the health you give to your party members through healing spells by 10%. This combines well with Enduring Ward and the Max HP +200 boost to keep Aerith stronger and healthier on the battlefield.
Of all party members in RebirthAerith is perhaps the simplest and most straightforward in her function: healing and magic. Any of the three staffs in this guide will serve you well if you want to channel her into more powerful or useful avenues for combat.
