Today, after a difficult start, FortniteAn in-game movie theater shows a short clip from an upcoming film Star Wars: The Awakening of Skywalker. Director J.J. Abrams and Game Manager host Geoff Keighley also made the visuals.
The event takes place at Rice Reels, FortniteCheck-in. Before the event, FortniteS Servers struggle under load, and many – including myself – can't get into the Epic Launcher or the game itself. (I was finally able to watch my switch, while my colleague Zack was on PC.) Once I got in, I came up with a free TIE Whisper glider for star Wars music. The start of the event was finally delayed in response to the news, with Geoff Keighley's spoken word informing the players.
Finally, the Millennium Falcon appeared, followed by the TIE wars. When it arrived, Geoff Keighley appeared as a hologram, along with a Storm Trooper named FN-143. (Update 3 pm—
The winning scene involved a “Jedi plot trick” and showed Rey, Finn, and Poe entering the First Order domain and killing other Storm Troopers. They were stopped by two Troopers, and Rey used The Force to think of fooling the two Troopers, letting the party pass. This part of the clip is not unique, and was actually shown earlier this month.
After a short clip, players vote for their most popular torch, and the Emperor's voice warns of "Sith Day" as the ships sail again. Afterwards, the players were given their favorite color of the light of the lamp and a great commotion broke out among all the players.
(Update 3:20 pm–Fortnite it now has challenges involving lighting fixtures, which appear on the list of players following the event. Light bulbs are available game weapons the chest. They can tie bullets, a cool thing I discovered shortly before I was done.)
Before being replaced by The Block in Season 7, Rice Reels showed a blast from Wreck-It Ralph and Winning entry of Fortnite a film contest for fans. The drive brought back Chapter 2, and a few weeks ago, it was slowly being built in preparation for today's event.
Use star Wars side of things, Fortnite find more star Wars skins, including the Storm Trooper and characters Rey and Finn. A Destruction of the Star appeared on the map in early November, coinciding with the release of EA Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order. Players who attended today's event got a free TIE Whisper.
The wake of the Skywalker The event is the first Chapter 2 in-game event since Fortnite went down following a black hole. At Thursday's awards, Epic creative director Donald Mustard indicated
I admit I'm not great star Wars boy – I watched the first three movies in seventh grade to impress a guy in a band class, let alone me again – but it's always nice to see that Fortnite Players act when they meet to do something other than kill each other (as long as they get into the game, that is.)
