CD Projekt Red announced a new one today witcher Game is in development. With the current teaser The Witcher: A new saga beginsthe game marks a move from CDPR’s own REDengine to Unreal 5.
At this point, the details are primarily focused on this deal with Epic rather than what players might expect from a new one witcher CDPR calls this an “exciting moment” and states that it marks the “beginning of a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games”, adding that it “covers not only the licensing but also the technical development of Unreal Engine 5”. The reason for this, they say, is to help the next version of Epic’s ubiquitous engine be “tailored for open-world experiences.”
An extraordinary seven years have passed since the release of the last full witcher Game, The Witcher 3: Wild Huntdespite the regular updates of the game and perennial Attraction that makes you feel like it was barely gone. Today’s announcement gives no indication of when that will be new saga could start by explaining that there are “no other details on the game – like a development timeframe or a release date”.
We knew CDPR was working on a new single player game already 2020but at this point it was not confirmed if there could be more witcher, cyberpunk, or even a whole new franchise. It’s safe to assume CEO Adam Kiciński spoke at the time about this new thing witcheras the developer has never parted ways in the past his large team between more than two mega projects at a time.
