At the end of last year, Sony added a few nostalgic Playstation 5 -Dashboard topics that repeated the experience with an older PlayStation console. People liked these topics very much, but Sony said they were temporary and finally they were all removed. But now they are finally coming back.

2024 was the 30th anniversary of the original Playstation. In December as part of this celebrationAn update for PS5 has added a really cool animation in the PS1 boot-up. And if you have tried the PS5 settings, you can find the dashboard topics for the console that have emulated some former Playstation consoles such as PS2 and PS3. People liked them very much, but Sony removed it a few weeks later. From tomorrow, however, these previously temporary topics will return as part of a larger PS5 update.

On April 23rdSony announced that the next big update for PS5 will bring all Retro PlayStation issues back from last year. In January Sony promised the players It would bring back the topics “in the coming months” and this time has come.

The PS5 update arrives tomorrow on April 24th. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the PS1 intro will come back.

It is not just the returning topics included in the update of tomorrow. Sony has also announced a whole series of new sound options as part of a new “Sound Focus” function, with which you can control what types of noises will better hear when playing a game. For example, you can vote or increase steps of audio so that you can hear them better when playing a game. Sony says this will be optional and only supports headsets.

Here are the default settings where you can tinker when the update of tomorrow goes live:

  • Increase the low pitch: The low frequency sounds like roaring engines and rumbling noises.
  • Vote voices: Reinforce language shoes, character voices and other medium -sized frequency noises.
  • Increase high pitch: Reinforcing high frequency sounds like steps and metallic noises.
  • Increase calm sounds: Reinforce noises with low volume in a variety of frequencies.
