When I started playing Fallout 76 There were no backpacks in 2018. That’s why I never thought about it. But when I learned from a random comment that backpacks were added after that point and had been in the game for years, I felt stupid for never making one. And then I picked up the prescription for a packet and felt even stupider. I will help you avoid this situation.
Yes, like many players, I returned to the irradiated online wasteland of Fallout 76. I had started feeling the urge for my MMO months before Stand out show. But I fought back. However, after seeing the entirety Amazon’s excellent live-action series Since the game is based on the post-apocalyptic RPG series, I had a hard time stopping myself from reinstalling Bethesda’s online version Stand out. As is often the case, I spent some of my time there Fallout 76
My annoying search for a backpack
During a casual perusal of the Fallout 76 subreddit, I found out that backpacks were added to the game in a previous update. And they allow you to carry more stuff. I was fascinated! I felt like a fool too. A moment later I did a quick Google search and found it a Reddit post And a few guides explains how to get a backpack. Seemed easy enough. So I booted up Fallout 76 and drove to Morgantown Airport.
According to Reddit, the blueprint for making the useful package was located at the top of the airport, in an area you visit in the early hours of the morning Fallout 76. I was here years ago but have never been back since the creation of my original character. During 2019 Wild Appalachians Update, Bethesda has added the backpack blueprint in this early game area. Makes sense since a lot of new players will stumble upon it.
However, players who have been experiencing the game for years could easily miss it since they don’t have to return to the airport. So I went back. I fought my way through the enemies inside, found the chest at the top, and discovered…no blueprint.
Why the backpack isn’t at Morgantown Airport
At that moment I had a thought, the same one I’ve had many times before Fallout 76: “Hmmm, did I do something wrong or is the game just broken?”
So I booted up Fallout 76 again, entered a new world, quickly fought my way up through the airport and…no backpack in my chest. Again. This time I searched the internet for more people who experienced this error and many others complained about it, yes, The backpack was not in the airport.
It actually turns out to be Bethesda touched where the blueprint appears a few months ago in a different area, a location that new players will encounter even earlier in their opening hours Fallout 76.
I felt dumber than ever. But now I want to help you get a backpack – which is very useful – and help you avoid this silly series of events.
How to unlock and craft the backpack Fallout 76
To get a backpack now (April 2024) you have to go to the Overseer’s camp lies south of Fallout 76 near the Wayward bar. It is located near a river north of the Green County Lodge and can be found in a chest marked “Overseer’s Hideout.”
Loot the blueprints and then check your inventory – you should be able to activate or “learn” the recipe. At this point, assuming you have the materials, you can craft a backpack at an armor bench. You will need a piece of fabric, a piece of leather and a piece of steel. As you level up, you can craft better versions of the backpack that can carry even more weight.
If you’re a new player who’s started playing in the last few weeks, you’ve probably already picked up the plans for the backpack after a visit to the Overseer’s camp.
If you are unable to craft a backpack, check the Notes section of your inventory and make sure you have the backpack plan activated. Remember that you cannot carry a backpack when wearing power armor Fallout 76.
Now, This is how you get a small backpack. If you want a larger backpack that offers even more space, you will need to add that Order of the Tadpole Quest series that isn’t too tricky but will take some time.
