If you’re wandering through the wastelands of Appalachia, you might notice what looks like a strangely dressed ghoul stumbling along the cracked pavement toward you. It’s actually a Scorched, which is nothing special, but you might have seen them in holiday attire lately. The bright red and white dress of a Scorched Wanderer stands out in the bleak post-apocalypse, and if you manage to get ahead of your fellow survivors, you may actually spot holiday Scorched in Fallout76 for fantastic rewards. Why would you want that? Well, read on.
As part of the Holiday Scorched Event in Fallout76numerous interesting places in Appalachia now offer Festive Scorched, which you may want to farm. Doing so will earn you a prize in the form of Small Christmas Gifts, Regular Christmas Gifts, and Large Christmas Gifts. The bigger the gift box, the better the rewards inside. Oh, and you can craft gifts too. But more on that in a moment!
Here you can farm Holiday Scorched until the event ends on August 6, 2024!
Where can you farm Holiday Scorched?
To spot Holiday Scorched, first and foremost look for bright colors, especially red and white jackets and dresses. If you’re near one of the festively dressed enemies, you’ll hear Christmas music. Honestly, it’s hard to miss.
But most importantly, you need to manage the right locations, such as:
- Morgantown Airport (exterior view)
- Tyler County Fairgrounds
- Bolton Green
- Helvetia
- Wavy Willards Water Park
- Camden Park
You’ll likely encounter Festive Scorched in any interesting location where regular Scorched spawn, but these six locations have the best chance of getting lucky.
However, they are also the most visited by the community. You can travel to Morgantown Airport, as I did this morning, and find the entire camp is free of enemies. Then the same thing happened in Bolton Greens. People want to participate in this event, apparently more than usual, so expect visitors.
Alternatively, if you subscribe to Fallout 1st, you can enter a private world, which is the best way to farm Holiday Scorched without competing with an entire server of interested players.
How to make your own Christmas presents
As mentioned before, instead of farming holiday fire, you can make holiday gifts yourself. First, you need to buy wrapping paper from station vendors or from Grahm. They will sell you:
- Poor quality wrapping paper
- Medium quality wrapping paper
- High-quality wrapping paper
These items are quite expensive, however. The high-end gift wrap, for example, can cost 2,000 caps or more, and the possible rewards vary considerably.
Once you have wrapping paper, visit the crafting bench in your CAMP to craft a Christmas present. You’ll need to spend resources, along with the wrapping paper, so stock up on materials in advance!
Plans you can get at Holiday Gifts
While normal rewards like the odd piece of clothing or a handful of grenades are fine, we all want plans for better gear, right? There are plenty of fantastic plans to grab during the Holiday Giveaways, including:
