“Hunt for the Jadeite Orb” is a quest you will begin with Dragon’s Dogma 2. You can accept the quest when you first visit the Checkpoint Rest Town in the west of Vermund – the town on the border with Battahl.
Our Dragon’s Dogma 2 shows you how to start “Hunt for the Jadeite Orb”. Where can I find the Jadeite Sphere?and explain whether you should give the Jadeite Orb to Everard or Offulve.
How to start Hunt for the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Not far west of the Checkpoint Rest Town Inn – and just around the corner from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop (more on him later) – you’ll find a shady character named Everard. He will ask you to help him find an object called Jadeite sphere.
The next time you go to the oxcart stand in town, you’ll be approached by a beast called “Beastren.” Offulve. He will tell you that he is in trouble with his boss (and in danger) because the jadeite sphere he delivered was stolen.
Your task is to find the ball and return it to one of these two people.
Optional: Seek advice from a bandit about the Jadeite Orb
Any of your followers who can serve as your guide on the quest will suggest that you speak to a criminal about where the stolen goods might end up – criminals like those in Vernworth‘s prison (fineJail).
Go to Jail, and you can find such a criminal in the second cell on the right. For a bribe of 500 gold – which will cause all nearby guards to attack you – he will tell you where to look Ibrahim’s junk shop.
In the Checkpoint Rest Town.
Just around the corner from where you met Everard.
Where to find the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Ibrahim’s Junk Shop – the same place where you can buy the Beastren Mask to get through the Battahl Gate as a human – sells the Jadeite Orb for 7,500 gold.
You can also ask him to make fakes for you. A fake Jadeite Orb will cost you 2,000 gold, and you must give the real Jadeite Orb to either one Everard or OffulveWe have described a method below that allows you to collect rewards from both.
Option 1: Give Offulve the Jadeite Orb
When he first approached you, Offulve told a (really) sad story about being exploited and wanting to sell the Orb so he could escape Everard. Giving him the ball back is more of a “good guy” ending.
He will thank you profusely and reward you 3,000 gold and a Elite camping gear before he sets off into his new life.
After that, you need to return to Everard and tell him that you couldn’t find the orb. He will say some scary things and then continue on his way.
Option 2: Give Everard the Jadeite Orb
Although Everard isn’t the thief calling master, he is definitely connected to a powerful underworld group. Returning the Orb to him probably won’t end well for Offulve, but there are better rewards and promises to bring more quests in the future.
If you return the orb to him, the first thing he will do is take it to Ibrahim to have it checked. Follow him to the junk shop and then when he says to wait, run to where he was standing. This will trigger the rest of the scene.
If you tried to give him a fake (and you don’t pay Ibrahim to lie for you), you will be thrown in jail. If it’s the real thing, you get it 12,000 gold and that Ring by Skullduggery This increases your damage when attacking from behind.
Option 3: Forge the Jadeite Orb and collect both rewards
Of course, Ibrahim has a talent for making high-quality fakes. So for 2,000 gold you could get him to make a copy of the Jadeite Orb. If you pick it up a day later, you will receive one Imitation Jadeite Sphere. The description reads: “An exquisite imitation of a precious, dazzling jewel.”
Theoretically, you can give the imitation bullet to both parties. But Everard will always take the Orb to Ibrahim to have it evaluated. If you gave Everard the fake, you can pay off Ibrahim after Everard resigns, but his silence comes at a price: 12,000 gold. This payout would wipe out any money you would make by returning the orb to Everard. It’s a little easier to give Offulve the fake orb, although you may hear a grumpy comment from your pawn about it. This way you can collect both rewards.
Update (April 16): We have added a method that allows you to use a Mimic Jadeite Orb to obtain both rewards from this quest.
