WORLD DOMINATION for PlayStation and Xbox

Domination, PlayStation, World, Xbox

Rebellion released the simulation and strategy game Evil Genius 2: World Domination this week on consolesthat enables large numbers of PlayStation and Xbox users to build the evil hideout of their dreams. We usually don’t reanalyze games when they’re released on new platforms, but we thought the franchise’s debut on those platforms would be a great opportunity to see how Rebellion tweaked the base building mechanics for Customize game with controller.

With that in mind, if you’re looking for a more complete review of Evil Genius 2: World Domination that got over the mechanics and compared it to the previous one, take a look at the PC version review here than in This article will only focus on customization for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S focus.

First of all, the most obvious change concerns the cursor. On PC, you simply select minions, items, and the HUD and click on them for the easiest way to access the mechanics on which the game is based. There is also a moving cursor in the console that can be used to select objects, people and items with the push of a button. It’s a system that works well, even though it shows it there is a lack of simplicity and fluidity that provide keyboard and mouse controls.

The following is the HUD navigationwhich is not as easy as clicking. You’ll have to use various buttons and controls to navigate the menus and select the tools you need to build new rooms, open the map, research new technology, climb the minions leaderboards, and more. It’s not a badly designed system, but it’s a little more complicated than PC and lacks some aspects that would make it a little smoother like scratching.

In the same vein, the cursor and the inability to be as precise as a mouse make a mistake most of the time clicking or clicking it costs you to specify the exact button you need. This problem can be fixed by moving the camera until you can see the base as vertically as possible, but it is still difficult.

However, if you can manage the controls, which in general isn’t bad for a console simulation and strategy game, the rest of the Evil Genius 2 is quite grateful to the controller. We don’t have much to complain about as the simulation systems have been completely moved and you don’t need any messy mechanics to use them, which is a positive point.

Apart from the controls, How is the game performing? To be completely transparent, we only tested the game on the Xbox Series X so we cannot say anything about the last generation version of this title. But on Microsoft’s main console, Evil Genius 2 looks great and runs very smoothly. The graphics are sharp and detailed, whether you zoom out as far as possible or get as close as possible to see the ins and outs of your evil hideout.

As for performance, works amazingly wellEven if you fill your nasty hiding place to the brim with various plants teeming with minions and fancy devices of the most malicious nature. This is a very positive point as strategy simulation games are known to have high demands on PC hardware, especially on systems with older components, and the latest generation of console hardware seems to be doing very well.

Then there is that loading timethat actually don’t exist on the Xbox Series X. While it takes a few seconds for the dock to load when you start the game session, switching to the map view or target camera and then back to the hiding place is barely noticeable and doesn’t seem to need a visible loading sequence.

Overall, Rebellion has one great customization work for the console in this game. It’s not perfect, but it’s a version that maintains the integrity of the PC edition that came out a few months ago, and they didn’t skimp on offering PlayStation and Xbox gamers an edition that is like that in every way, content-wise completely the same. Of course, there are some aspects that could be improved, for the most part, console gamers can rest assured that this version of Evil Genius 2: World Domination is an accurate, well-made, and in great shape, simulation and strategy game.
