Earlier this week, Sony confirmed that Jetpack Interactive is developing its next God of War PC port, with Santa Monica Studio overseeing the project. However, a new rumor suggests that Jetpack Interactive could also be working on a port for God of War Ragnarok, the upcoming sequel. The rumor comes from the LinkedIn page of Warren Lee, a Jetpack tools and systems developer. In his profile, Lee lists God of War Ragnarok as one of the projects he’s working on. This has led to a lot of speculation that Sony is already planning a PC port of the game, even before it launches on PS5!

As pointed out Game Rant, it is possible that this was some kind of mistake on Lee’s part, and was instead intended to list God of War 2018. However, given Sony’s recent adoption of the PC platform, it is also possible that the company is already making plans to port Ragnarok. It’s incredibly unlikely that Sony will release Ragnarok on PC the same day it releases it on PlayStation 5, but the sequel may not be as long. If Ragnarok ends up meeting or exceeding the quality of the previous game, it would make sense that Sony would want as many players to enjoy it.
The God of War franchise is incredibly important to Sony. Kratos has become one of the company’s biggest icons, even appearing in recent UEFA Champions League ads alongside Atreus. Not all PlayStation fans are happy with so many games of their own heading to PC, but it will certainly expand the audience for the God of War series.
God of War Ragnarok will be released next year, exclusively on PlayStation 5. Would you be disappointed if the next God of War was released for PC? Are you looking forward to the game? Let us know in the comments.
