Apex Legends has completely new stories from the cinematic Outlands and reveals the history of Bangalore and his brother, Jackson, as well as the cruelty of Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation, one of the most important factions in Titanfall.
The new movie is called Gridiron, named after the location of the final battle of the Border War. The story centers on Bangalore and his brother, who came from generations of military service and are now soldiers of the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC).
Shortly after the Battle of Gridiron, tension erupts between the brothers when Jackson realizes that the war is pointless and that the BMI will not really make the universe a better or safer place to live. Horrified by her brother’s seemingly treacherous actions, Bangalore denounces him to her superiors, but changes her mind once an IMC pilot arrives and attempts to kill Jackson instead of putting him on trial.
This leads to a fierce battle between Jackson and Bangalore on the one hand, and the BMI pilot on the other. The siblings eventually win the grueling conflict, reconcile their differences, and decide to leave their lives with the BMI, even if it means running for the rest of their lives.
While this new trailer provides us with a wealth of background on one of the oldest and most popular characters in Apex Legends, it doesn’t shed as much light on the future of the game as other recent cutscenes. It doesn’t appear to have any new characters, although Jackson is obviously a possible addition, but sometimes it’s nice to see the history of the series to get attention.
With that said, Apex Legends should have a new season on the horizon in the coming months, so it is likely that we will receive an update from developer Respawn Entertainment in the very near future.
