Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has grown a lot with its post-launch seasons, as free content has helped a lot with the game’s content drought. For those of you who don’t own Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but want to see its latest additions, the upcoming free access weekend should be exciting.
This will be the fourth free access period for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The first arrived in January, and players were able to access the original Zombies map, Die Maschine. Running for a full week, this period apparently proved successful for Treyarch, as another free access period arrived in February. This time, it focused on multiplayer and Outbreak, providing new players with a solid mix of multiplayer content and zombies. A similar mix of modes was seen in the third free access period, which came with the launch of Season 3 in April.
As revealed by Charlie Intel, the final free access weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will begin this Thursday, and will run from May 27 to June 1. During this five-day period, Call of Duty fans will once again be able to enjoy a mix of multiplayer content and Zombies. Like the other trial periods, players will keep their progress through ranks and unlocks, picking up where they left off in the next trial or when they purchase the full game.

For multiplayer, everything will be accessible, which means that players will be able to enjoy the 12v12 playlist of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and the newly added remake of Standoff. The baseball bat was recently added to the game for fans of melee combat, and the AMP63 submachine gun will arrive in the game sometime in Season 3 Reloaded. The popular Die Hardpoint playlist is also active, while the Multi-Team Delete playlist has been restored after a temporary deletion to correct errors.
As for the zombies, players will not have access to the survival maps Die Maschine and Firebase Z. Instead, Outbreak will be free to play this weekend, giving fans the opportunity to experience the mode on a large scale. . However, this free access period comes at a good time, as players can explore the Duga region of the mode and get a taste of Outbreak’s new fishing mechanic. Outbreak’s first main mission is also live, giving fans a suitable objective to complete during the trial period.
Whether players are winning the Outbreak easter egg or betting on nukes in Die Hardpoint, there’s a lot to enjoy within Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War right now. As such, grabbing a friend and going into multiplayer or Zombies this weekend seems like a good way to kill time.
