CD Projekt RED has decided to announce this afternoon and via a Twitter message, its work plan for the coming years. Thanks to this, he confirmed the development of several important projects, among them a new trilogy of his star franchise “The Witcher” and a new episode of “Cyberpunk 2077”.
The Witcher 4 and much more
In connection with Literary works of Andrzej Sapkowski several projects are being developed by the studio and a few associates. The first of the projects is codenamed ‘Sirius’
Another of the titles of the most famous wizarding franchise is ‘Canis Major’, Developed by a third-party studio “run by ex-Witcher veterans” powered by Unreal Engine 5. It is a story-driven single-player open-world role-playing game set in the universe of “The Witcher”. Finally, CD Projekt RED is working on a new trilogy, the first title of which was already confirmed at the beginning of the year. They plan to release all 3 games over a period of 6 years from the release of ‘The Witcher 4’.
The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077
Moving on to ‘Cyberpunk 2077’, the studio announces ‘Project Orion‘, the code name of his futuristic RPG to be developed by CD Projekt Red North America (with the opening of a new studio in Boston). The project will “demonstrate the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe,” they say of the company, but for that they need a lot of manpower. Therefore, “we are creating a new team in Boston which, together with the expanding team in Vancouver, will form our new studio: CD PROJEKT RED North America.”
A new IP in the design phase
But CD Projekt RED does not close its sights on known licenses and the Polish developer himself would rework on the creation of an original IP. Code name ‘Hadar‘, its production started at the end of last year and is currently in the design phase. From the study, they want to make it clear that it will be different from “The Witcher” and “Cyberpunk 2077”. “It is important to understand that at this time we are still working on basic concepts and laying the groundwork for this new franchise,” they said.
