‘Isekai Tenseisha Koroshi: Cheat Slayer’, the new manga of the writer of ‘Kakegurui’, cancels its publication after leaving its first chapter.
Although it is nothing new for a manga to be canceled during publication, it was abruptly announced on Monday that the work written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Aki Yamaguchi came to an end before taking off.
The reason is due to the content of the work itself, and is that far from being a boring read, fans in Japan questioned the characters and the situations in which they find themselves, due to their resemblance to emblematic protagonists of the isekai.
The creator of ‘Kakegurui’ gave an opportunity to the most popular genre of recent years with his personal touch, where the heroes were the inhabitants of the world in which the usual protagonists reincarnate.
His mission in this case was to get rid of those who come into the world cheating, referring to all the protagonists of isekais, whose stats are always altered to be the most powerful.
Although so far it does not sound so far-fetched, the problem is that the fantasy became quite violent and as if this were not enough, the characters who carried out the murders resemble protagonists of series like ‘Sword Art Online’.
Because of this, fans in Japan sent messages to publishers to stop the play, noting that their favorite characters from ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’, ‘Konosuba’ and ‘Hamefura’ were involved in the acts.
The Kadokawa publishing house, home to all the isekais who have managed to prosper, gave in to the pressure of its buyers, announcing this Monday that the first chapter of ‘Isekai Tenseisha Koroshi: Cheat Slayer’ would be the last.
The statement was published in the same label’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine, home to Homura Kawamoto’s dark work that will never see the light again.
