Greetings, fellow cosmonauts! Thank you for listening to this exciting new announcement. In our first PS blog post, we announced our reimagining of Sega’s arcade and console icon for single-player, co-op and Versus gameplay – only on PlayStation VR2. The response was overwhelming.
Today, as promised, we are releasing a free playable demo.
You’ll be able to pre-order the game at a discount before the full game launches on June 23, 2023.
Our game is made by a real dream team of developers, artists and musicians scattered across our little blue ball spinning in a remote corner of the galaxy – and your support means the world to us. In the meantime, allow us to tell you a bit more about what awaits you, both in the demo and in the full version.
What’s in the demo?
Tutorial
When you first load the game, you are transported directly into the world of C-Smash VRS. The game is designed to be easy to pick up and play, so you can feel in tune with your virtual body and at ease in a stylish space on the edge of time.
C-Smash VRS feels natural. In a few quick steps, the tutorial gives you some general tips and tricks for playing. Don’t forget to learn the Trick Smash, designed to lure hard-to-reach high balls and hit the ball with larger-than-life power and precision.
A special feature to note – if you want to change hands, you can do so in the menu – left-handed, right-handed or ambidextrous, we have what you need!
Coaching
While most practice modes are there to teach, this single-player mode is a fun, engaging, and absorbing challenge.
Crush blocks of different strengths, improve your score and enjoy dynamic music.
The arena is made up of a grid of dots that pulsate and ripple with the gameplay. This is reflected in the hand and head vibrations, making you feel the impact of a well-timed return as well as the ripple of a miss when it comes back ready to serve.
A crisp and beautiful cosmos awaits, with PSVR 2’s OLED display bringing the minimal yet vivid color palette to life. Design has never been so physical and present.
Practice Mode gives you a small taste of the full version’s Travel Mode, which you can also play co-op with a friend. Which brings us to the multiplayer mode of our demo:
Against
Play with a friend or compete against players from around the world.*
Using PlayStation Activity Cards, players who are not yet playing the game can directly join their friends in multiplayer sessions. Join a friend in the “Cosmic Shuttle” and go play Clash, the fast-paced multiplayer VS mode included in the demo.
The goal is to break the other player’s blocks and protect your own.
The power and speed of the PlayStation 5 allows instant transition into matches with your next revenge just seconds away!
You can play C-Smash VRS sitting or standing – the game automatically adjusts the height of the players. We don’t want anyone to feel disadvantaged or left behind.
Unlike many other sports and online games, C-Smash VRS is designed to make you feel good, even when you “lose”.
The great Ken Ishii (Rez Infinite) and Danalogue (the frontman of The Comet is Coming and Soccer 96) each wrote a superb soundtrack with dynamic and totally transporting tracks for the game. been so good together.
In an ideal world, you’d never realize you just had the best workout — alone or with a friend — because it feels so much like a night out. In the space.
What’s coming?
The demo is a small preview of our game, which will have an epic Journey mode, a sweat-and-fun Infinity mode, and a variety of Co-Op and Versus modes.
We also have more features mapped for the full title, including a 3D audio soundscape and fully utilizing adaptive triggers.
We can’t wait to see you in the demo – and we can’t wait to take you to new dimensions when the full game releases on June 23, 2023.
