Final Fantasy VII Remake INTERmission review: the generational leap doesn’t come alone
For many, the arrival of Final Fantasy VII Remake was one of the best news we have ever received. Relive one of the most spectacular stories in this franchise with new graphics and even deeper characters. While we weren’t expecting it to arrive in pieces. All in a line that anticipates that we will be with a game that will accompany us throughout the generation and will reserve us all kinds of surprises, advancing with technology and time.
But to liven up this expectation, the company not only wanted to reward us with an update for the new generation of the proposal, but also brought us with this DLC, a new story which, to the surprise of many, is currently exclusive to PlayStation 5. While that might be the downside, it doesn’t stop us from wanting to know a bit more about the story. So now is the time to find out what exactly this DLC can offer us.
Yuffie’s Story in Midgar
As they had anticipated us in their trailers, introduces us to Yuffie, a ninja from Wutai who embarks on a mission in which she must succeed in stealing Supreme Matter from the Shinra. This brings it to the town of Midgar at a time when its history will have some commonalities that we witness with the original group of the proposal.
Of course she won’t be alone he will also have Sonon, a Wutai agent who will lend him a hand to help him in his mission. But while it may be interesting, the most important thing to know is that our story will be split in two. A first chapter with which, in a way, we are presented with the new theme and what we are really going to know before giving way to the really exciting.
What we will find in this first part is a place which, at least for a moment, will have great affection for us. After all, we are in the middle of the district of sector 7, moment when memories inevitably come closer. But the most exciting thing about it is that in addition to being able to visit this beautiful place, we also have a new mini-game.
A mini-game which, although it does not matter in the story, earns points
While the side quests don’t affect how we progress through the story, the reality is that Fort Condor was a huge surprise overall. After all, drink some of what Square Enix does best with a mini-game where strategic battles are gaining popularity. In this way, we have before us a game in which we have to think very well about how to organize our forces so as not to fall in battle.
We have before us a mini-game with great potential
We know we don’t have to play, yet its playable mechanics grab our attention. To the point of enjoying games that end in time and carry more than having succeeded in defeating the enemy and destroy your fort. What is to be expected is that this new integration is also present in the next section since it is a success.
Yuffie’s unstoppable abilities
While playing the mini-game might take or fill a bit longer, the really important thing is to Yuffie’s combat and abilities
Yuffie is an ace in battle, though taking hits can be terrible
This character is able to perfectly combine the style of melee and ranged combat. But what is ten is to check how, by pressing L2, it is possible to synchronize the bars
Of course, what we can be clear about is that, despite the exploration continuing to maintain the line of what was seen in the remake, combat is a bigger challenge. After all, enemies won’t hold back when it comes to confronting Yuffie in search of making us prove whether we really are as skilled as they seem or end up falling multiple times in battle.
A little glimpse of what’s to come
Although we won’t go too deep into what has been seen since the players who can access this work are limited because it is exclusive to the PS5, what we can say is that this is a small preview of what’s to come. In fact, it’s a great way to get to know a little more about a character who is well loved by fans.
Yuffie, in general, is amazing in combat. In fact, it shows that he has great power and that somehow we want to keep seeing it in action. Especially since thanks to their presence we also find a new way to experience the story from a slightly different angle. Especially since his character differs from what we see in the rest of the characters.
A proposal that will appeal to fans, despite its brevity
Added to this is the arrival of new songs for its soundtrack. A proposal to experiment and which, like the fighting style of our character, make this DLC unique. Not necessarily required to be able to follow the story, but pleasant to enjoy and curious for those who are impatiently awaiting the remake.
In general, what did we think of Final Fantasy VII Remake’s INTERmission proposal?
Now is the moment of truth and to review some points of the DLC Final Fantasy VII Remake. At INTERmission, we meet the same improvements that Intergrade incorporates for the remake, so graphically both in the fights and in the cutscenes, it will help us to remain speechless, especially if we go for the performance mode.
Of course, Yuffie is a character to know, despite the fact that the duration of the DLC leaves us wanting to see a lot more and it seems to us that it was not enough. But what’s clear is that this is an approach to what’s to come with Part Two. And, yes, helping to increase the desire for her first.
