Ahead of its major Version 1.6 update, “Midsummer Island Adventure,” which will be released in just a couple of days, Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has taken an unusual touch this time around and has officially revealed several new characters. There are three new characters in total, and unsurprisingly if you’ve been following previous updates, it seems they all come from the Inazuma landing ruled by Electro Archon. More specifically, miHoYo today revealed Pyro Yoimiya-tuned pyrotechnic, Cryo-tuned Kamisato Ayaka, and Anemo-tuned ninja Sayu.
Historically, miHoYo has dropped these official reveals to get closer to the actual release of the characters. But with every major update, it seems like leakers and data miners are getting their hands on the characters very early, revealing them earlier than myHoYo’s intended timeline. miHoYo is certainly aware of this fact, and today’s revelations feel absolutely aimed at spreading the official information to the world ahead of the prominent leaks.

As noted above, the Genshin Impact Version 1.6 update, “Midsummer Island Adventure”, will be released on June 9th. Genshin Impact itself is currently available, free of charge, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The video game will also eventually release for the Nintendo Switch. The version 1.5 update, “Beneath the Light of Jadeite”, is now available and added new missions, systems and characters. As of now, the latest character banner features the new character Eula attuned to Cryo, as well as several other previously released characters.
