Meet Your Maker launches on April 4, and what better way to do that than with Day 1 availability as part of the April 2023 PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup.

While there’s no better feeling than finally getting a game into the hands of gamers, Meet Your Maker’s focus on user-generated content makes this release even more special to us.

It’s a twisting playground where everyone can unleash their creativity, build and challenge themselves with levels we could never have imagined. After the incredible display of imagination and talent from our testers, we are beyond excited to see what the rest of the world can do.

If you are looking for some ideas for driving your take a personal approach to building or raiding on April 4th, here are some player-inspired profiles to help light the fuse.

What kind of builder are you?

Thinking about the experience you want to create for Raiders isn’t just a fun way to get Meet Your Maker in, it’s a key part of the game. Flex that dark creativity to create something memorable and rack up praise from Raiders that will power your outpost’s progress down the road.

The maze maker

Each outpost in Meet Your Maker requires you to build a clear path from its entrance to the Genmat at its heart – but there’s nothing to say that path should be easy to navigate. Build like a maze maker and transform the layout of the outpost itself into another enemy for players to face. Twisting corridors, verticality, multiple branching corridors, and trap-filled dead ends are all great ways to confuse Raiders.

In addition to well-placed traps, guards also play an important role in the Maze Maker’s arsenal. Personally record each of their patrol routes through your maze for maximum effect. Then, up the ante by equipping the guards with Augments like Unleashed and let them break free from their patrol path to hunt Raiders to the death.

the trapper

Some of the most rewarding moments in Meet Your Maker happen when a Raider think they escaped your smart trap setup only to realize that they were constantly pointed towards the real threat. The trapper loves chaining traps, thinking strategically to always stay one step ahead.

You can equip each Trap with Mods to give you ultimate control over how (and when) they are deployed. Traps can be modified to do everything from explode to destroy, trigger more than once, or stay invisible until the Raider catches the Genmat, creating a whole new funhouse to deal with on the way out.

The visionary

Outposts are inherently deadly, but we’ve also seen builders bank on aesthetics and immersion for incredible results. The Visionary’s goal is to build a deadly work of art, spending time creating atmosphere with the perfect combination of architecture, props, decals and color palettes meant to leave the jaws of a Raider on the ground.

Along with the main toolkit, the base game also comes with the Castle Siege deco pack to help you build dark dungeons and medieval fortresses. We’ll be adding a steady stream of themed deco packs like this to the game after launch, all of which can be used alone or combined in unique ways.

What kind of Raider are you?

As a Raider in Meet Your Maker, you’ll battle a series of unique outposts, all designed by players around the world. Your objective is to enter, catch the Genmat and escape with your life. There is no right way to raid and what is best for you ultimately depends on what kind of player you are.

The Thinker

This is a one-shot, one-kill game, and taking a methodical approach is often your best bet. Peek into every corner, see how much intel you can scavenge on a room before entering it, and attack with a plan. Think as much as possible like a builder and break down the defenses of an outpost one strategic step at a time.

The speed runner

If adrenaline and unexpected fun is your thing, you might be a Speedrunner. Try to trade a meticulous approach for racing focused on quick reflexes and let your grappling hook launch you into each room. Whether You don’t even know what you’re going to do next, how can a Builder anticipate it?

The Completist

You don’t just want to beat an outpost, you want to clear it out and send the builder back to the drawing board. The finalists are not only there for the Genmat, but also for everything else. Clear all the rooms, break all the traps, kill all the guards to collect the loot and find the inherited item before escaping.

And don’t forget, whether you’re building or looting, it’s always more fun with a friend. Builders can team up to divide the labor and collaborate on the ultimate death trap, and Raiders can bring a friend into the fray for some wild action when a stubborn outpost just refuses to fall.

We set out to create something new and different with Meet Your Maker and couldn’t be more grateful for the support we’ve received along the way. We hope you have as much fun building in the desert as we did.

Play Meet Your Maker on April 4, available with PlayStation Plus subscriptions as part of the April monthly games lineup. Meet your Maker will be available on PS4 and PS5.
