Hitman 3 will give the first two games in the series a new set of fresh paint and at the same time compress the file size to around 100GB.
IO Interactive will do some magic to shrink Hitman 3 to around 100GB. The game will come with not only the third installment in the series, but also the previous two titles, all of which will be playable on PSVR.
A developer from IO Interactive (via PC GamesN) shared some facts about the game on ResetEra. The developer stated: “We have managed to significantly reduce the size of the game. The three games with all the content will occupy around 100 GB. The biggest gains are due to data management and file structures and how we deliver the game so that we can eliminate duplicate data. We also used newer and better compression for the textures, that helps too. “
In addition to the smaller file sizes, the developers at IO Interactive are also improving the look of Hitman 1 and 2. The developer stated: “We updated the engine with reflections in the screen space.” They continued: “The best? It is backward compatible with the previous two games in the trilogy and many surfaces have been improved. “
The first two titles in the series were amazing, so of course I’m happy to see that they will be included in the third game. The two games were so similar that grouping them together makes sense. It’s also nice to see that both of you will be getting a new paint set.
Hitman 3 will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Stadia and PC in January 2021. The virtual reality version will be exclusive to PSVR.
