In a previous PS Blog post, I talked about Synapse’s dual-wielding action that combines brutal firepower and expressive one-on-one telekinesis. Today, I’m excited to share the first story details for the game and reveal our cast of voice talent.
Before we get into the details, I’m proud to reveal our latest gameplay trailer which offers a tantalizing preview of the high-stakes mission that awaits you.
Be the enemy within
Synapse is set on the eve of a devastating global attack, orchestrated by the infamous Colonel Peter Conrad. Once a respected head of covert operations, the Colonel has since become a rogue and notorious enemy of the state whose twisted thinking has reached dangerous new levels as he reemerges on the world st age threatening Armageddon.
That’s where you come in. You play as a highly trained agent, uniquely equipped to extract the information needed to stop the attack. After activating a scanner connected to the Colonel, you are transported into the Neuro-Synaptic Relay, a gateway into the Colonel’s mind.
You have no choice but to sink deeper into the Colonel’s twisted mindscape, battling against his increasingly deadly defenses as you attempt to find the vital information on how to prevent the launch of his biological weapon.
However, you are not completely alone in this perilous mission. Your handler, Clara Sorensen – a super-secret Bureau V director will be your only link to the outside world, guiding you through every layer of Colonel Conrad’s warped subconscious.
Meet the Cast
We always had a clear idea of the two actors we wanted to play, the Colonel and the Handler, and we are delighted that both agreed to lend their voices to the characters. So, let us introduce you to some familiar faces…
David Hayter as Colonel Peter Conrad
The legendary David Hayter (Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid) is the voice of Colonel Peter Conrad. We worked with David on one of our previous games and he was not only a fantastic comedian, but a wonderful collaboration partner. We felt Colonel Conrad had the potential to join the legendary cast of characters that David has portrayed. Luckily for us, David agreed and he’s just as thrilled to bring the Colonel to life:
“I love diving into the role of a powerful antagonist, especially one with a compelling story, because those roles are the most exciting to play. So when nDreams approached me to play the Colonel, I saw a deeply complex character and an opportunity to create a truly unique gaming experience. And to go along with Jennifer Hale is every voice actor’s dream. I look forward to facing you on the battlefield of the Colonel’s mind on the 4th July.

Jennifer Hale as Manager Clara Sorensen
As David alluded to, the incredible Jennifer Hale will be your guide inside the Colonel’s mind. Jennifer has voiced many iconic characters, including Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear Solid alongside David, as well as Commander Shepherd in the Mass Effect series and Rivet in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Jennifer is looking forward to teaming up with players to defeat the Colonel:
