In a moment that will live in memory for many fans, Halo’s voice delivered a very special message to the transgender community.
As part of the services offered for the Cameo platform, Jeff Steitzer, who is known for giving his voice to the Halo multiplayer system, including Halo Infinite, communicated his support for this group. Being hired to say the words “Trans Rights,” the voice actor went substantially further in his statement.
In two minutes, he communicated that in his 70 years of life he had had the opportunity to see many things, including the disputes of all kinds of minorities throughout the decades.
“And now I see trans people like you who basically want nothing more than to enjoy the equality that everyone else aspires to. And so, for my part, I think you should have. So, I’m happy to say ‘trans rights!’ ‘”
A very special moment for many people to be validated by a special figure, especially for those who lived their childhoods to the rhythm of the Halo series and its intense battles in multiplayer mode.
Responses to the post have a positive nuance, not only from the community, but from fans and even the official Xbox account itself, who responded to their support for both Steitzer and trans people.
This support shows us that it is possible to see support for sexually diverse people in an environment that continues to be demonstrated as an open space such as gaming. Despite the persistence of a vocal minority that insists on promoting hatred and resentment, it always ends up showing that we are more good.
For now, it only remains to wait for the premiere of Halo Infinite, and to be able to enjoy the voice of Jeff Steitze in his most popular role.
