Bandai Namco the trailer has premieredr of the third DLC of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to give us an idea of the gameplay of this. A few months ago they shared a teaser trailer with only narrative components, but the last video focuses on Gohan and the fight with androids number 17 and 18.
This DLC will revolve around the parallel world of Trunks, this story will be known by some who have seen this part of the long anime (the Cell saga). And there will even be others who will know it more thoroughly if they saw the movie “The History of Trunks” that was released in 1994.
Alternative world
In this film it was explained that, after a series of time travels and the creation of parallel worlds, Trunks ended up being the protagonist of a world in which Goku had died of heart problems and the androids had destroyed the earth. It’s not the happiest world, but it has become canonical and symbolic for the Z series.
In today’s trailer we could see Gohan fighting precisely against androids 17 and 18, in the fight Goku’s son is missing his left arm, which conforms to the canonical history of manga and anime. In fact, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has been very respectful of the original story so no less was expected from this DLC.
In theory this is the last DLC included in the Deluxe Edition of the game, those who own it (or the season pass) will be able to download it at no additional cost on June 11, as well as already downloaded the DLC focused on Bils and the DLC focused on Freeza. It is unknown if Bandai plans to continue releasing canonical DLCs or if they will simply update the game with bug fixes and little else.
