Crossplay has finally come to Overwatch, one of the most requested features in online titles today. This means that any player on any platform will be able to play against and with any other player on any platform. Of course, those who have a copy of Overwatch on consoles will have the possibility to deactivate the option in the game settings, while those on PC do not.
Coexistence is more or less forced since deactivating the option on the console “condemns” you to play only with those who also have it deactivated, so the waiting time for a game can increase considerably. So unless you don’t mind waiting, it’s best to start competing with others.
Celebration event
It is worth noting that no serious competitor will have cross-play, that is, tournaments and rank modes will continue to be played between people on the same console. This is due to the advantage mouse and keyboard users have in some respects. In this way, we can only play with those who have in competitive mode with those who have the same virtues and limitations.
Along with this crossover game comes the Ash’es Deadlock Challenge, an event that will run from June 22 to July 5, the gunner and partner Bob as protagonists. There are several gift sprays, but the important thing for many will be the skin that you will get if you play 27 games during this period. The skin is what we can see in the images and, of course, Bob’s appearance also changes.
For its part, the sprays are obtained by watching Overwtch Twitch streamers, the list of who we must see can be seen in the blizzard blog
As if that were not enough, Blizzard has published a short novel called Deadlock Rebels that revolves around Ashe and McGree before Overwatch. It can be read in English for free following this link.
Ashe’s Deadlock Challenge begins today and runs through July 5. For its part, cross-play will now work on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch, and PC.
