When we play video games, we usually go to the hobby to distract ourselves after a hard day’s work, take a few minutes away from the responsibilities of the adult life or simply as a meeting point to be with friends. What many of us may not have expected to discover is that playing video games can also become a job full of responsibilities… or almost.
That’s what many of you will think when we tell you about the discovery related to Ultimate online
If you don’t enter the game in 5 days, your house is in a dilapidated state.
Ultimate online is famous for being a game”Tuscancompared to the most current ones, but also a demanding title with the player and the proof of this is provided by Xavi himself. “I just found out that there are Ultima Online veterans who have been paying their bills since the late 90s”; it says in your profile.
So far, nothing extraordinary, without going any further, surely you know a user who has been a WoW regular since the early 2000s, right? Xavi continues to make sure they foot the bill “not because they keep playing, but because they don’t want their house destroyed in the game for not playing. It’s $13/month and log in every 2-3 days ONLY for that”
Xavi goes on to explain that this system in the video game is a result of avoiding land hoarding in the game, with a finite house system unlike current MMOs. The user also remembers that “if after 5 days the owner does not enter the house Stakes, it goes into a dilapidated state, and a random counter is activated by which it was destroyed and all items can be taken by anyone”.
A system that undoubtedly shows that Ultima Online is a game that requires almost constant dedication, but despite the harshness of its mechanics, it still has a very loyal community decades later.
