So, what’s new for the launch?
Introducing Duo Mode
We really enjoyed seeing you all striving to be a single-player champion during our test sessions. The fun really begins on August 11, when Duos mode goes live. Fight side by side with a friend, share your loot, protect yourself and win together!
Duos mode takes all the instant gameplay you know and love from our Solo Brawler Royale experience and turns it into something brand new. Each situation involves a new set of strategic questions that you and your partner must answer. Want to risk landing on a hotspot like the water tower in Trophy Heights to get all that loot? If one of you is kicked out, the other will be left without backup, raising the stakes. Want to move and loot together? If you stay too close, you will collect and share a player’s items. If you split up too much, you can be vulnerable to sneak attacks from aggressive Duos that leave you outnumbered.
In Duos Mode, you start with just eight slots for your stats and slightly less Max Health than when playing alone. Additionally, you will not have access to the Superstar Comeback system. If your teammate is knocked out, you’ll get additional Max Health and Stat slots awarded to help you stay in the fight. Don’t worry though, because running out of health in Duos Mode won’t knock you out right away.
If your teammate runs out of health, they will be downed and need help. To help your teammate, simply stand next to them and press the Interact (Circle) button to encourage them to get up. You will have 30 seconds to do so, but if your teammate is downed again, you will have progressively less time to help them. Sound simple? That is…until enemy teams hover above your friend trying to stop you. Try using Vicious Blast (hold Triangle) or activate your Superstar Mode to knock opponents away from your friend, then help them out as quickly as possible. As a bonus, if you attempt to assist a teammate while Superstar Mode is active, you’ll assist them twice as fast.
Communication and teamwork are the key to victory. Share items. Go for free versions. Help each other when enemies attack. You can knock your teammates over, but you won’t hurt them (unless water is involved). If you want a real thrill, try tossing an enemy into the air and letting your teammate connect a follow-up attack. Create the team combos of your dreams and really excite your fans.
Introducing Playground Mode
Want to explore the city at your own pace and perfect your moves? Looking for a few lessons on how to play before you jump headfirst out of a giant cannon? Check out our free roaming experience, Playground Mode. The city will be entirely open to discovery. Look for training modules in different neighborhoods to learn gameplay lessons. Train with the high-tech robots to help you unlock your inner champion. Explore alone or with a friend. Enjoy Grapital City at your own pace.
You can join a Playground server alone or with a friend. If you bring a friend, you will not be paired as a team. This will allow you to fight or have fun in multiple ways. If you get eliminated while in Playground, you can press the Option button to respawn nearby.
Press Option to open the map screen and see the locations and subject names for all the lessons scattered around the city, as well as the locations of the Equip Up zones. You can also enable or disable battle mode using the map screen. If you turn off Battle Mode, you can still interact with our robot training dummies, but other players won’t be able to disturb you. When you arrive at a lesson location, you can use the practice screens to bring up lessons. There are 8 themed slots with a wide variety of lessons to read. Learn at your own pace; it is not necessary to read everything in one visit.
Look for an Equip Up area if you want to play with any of the items the Rumble has to offer. Here you can find all special moves in the game, as well as all weapons and consumables. And all will reappear! Try everything on your own. Or just bring a friend and run errands through the big open city. Play your way!
The first season starts on August 18
You’ll have a week to warm up, stretch and practice your favorite main event super moves. Season 1 starts on August 18! The Season One Battle Pass contains 100 rewards that you’ll unlock by earning Fame and advancing your Rumbler’s career. Rewards include accessories and accessory sets to customize your look, title cards, emotes and more. Be sure to customize your title card on the Career page. Opponents you eliminate will get an overview of all the training you’ve been through.
You’ll be able to purchase the Battle Pass from the store for 1,000 Brawla Bills, Rumbleverse’s in-game currency. To sweeten the deal, completing the Battle Pass will net you 1,500 Brawla Bills. Looks like someone skipped math class for leg day, folks.
We’re not just launching a game, we’re starting a journey. Stay tuned for a constant stream of updates, special events, and new ways to rumble. The wait is coming to an end. The Rumble is calling you. Will you answer?
