Assassin's Creed Shadows release date postponed again

Assassin's Creed, Assassin39s, Creed, date, postponed, release, shadows, Ubisoft

We were supposed to have a new adventure in feudal Japan in just over a month, but we'll have to wait even longer. Ubisoft announced for the second time a postponement of the release of the long-awaited Assassin’s Creed Shadows and revealed the new date on which this game will supposedly be released on the market.

This new title in the saga had originally been announced for the November 15, 2024. A couple of months before the date, Ubisoft announced that they decided to postpone it until February 14, 2025 to have time to polish it and produce a work in the best possible conditions. Now, through an official statement published in the franchise's social networksannounced the new postponement and the new date.

According to the statement signed by the product Marc-Alexis Coté, the postponement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows it is because “they believe that a few additional weeks are needed to implement the recommendations they have received and ensure an even more ambitious and engaging experience from day 1”.

This is actually good news. Ubisoft games are infamous for having multiple performance issues and bugs in their releases, which has affected sales of their most recent titles. More time means they're spending time polishing it, although we hope they're not putting their development teams to work overtime.

What is the new release date of Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

According to Ubisoft, the game will be released on Thursday March 20, 2025 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. We hope it will not be necessary to postpone its launch further.
