Although it was released in 2021 with many problems that caused a very bad first impression, the war game from DICE and EA managed to recover little by little through changes and updates. It eventually became a widely played title with a loyal player base. Sadly, their story came to an end. The recent season 7 was the last of Battlefield 2042 and will no longer have any major updates or seasons with new maps, vehicles or weapons.
This news came to us through a statement signed by Byron Beede, general manager of the brand Battlefield. In this he announces the end of new content for the game in order to focus on the future of the franchise.
Eye! This doesn’t mean you have to stop playing. Battlefield 2042 will continue to operate online and the team will continue to support the game, fixing bugs and adding challenges and events. It doesn’t mean that they are going to turn off the servers or anything like that. It’s just that it won’t have any more seasons.
Beede takes advantage of the statement to announce that Motive Studio – the team behind games like Star Wars Squadrons y the ‘remake’ of Dead Space— will work hand in h and with DICE in the development of the next game in the saga Battlefield
We liked to see how Battlefield 2042 It came out of the mud of its launch as the seasons went by and although we are sad to know that it won’t have more, that’s okay. Not all games have to continue being updated infinitely and it is already a more than fun experience.
