Who says that a video game cannot have a song with some of the biggest stars of the moment on its soundtrack? Blizzard wasn’t content with the epic tunes of their new game and produced Lilith a song by Halsey featuring SUGA from the Korean K-pop band BTS that serves as an anthem for Diablo IV.
You can check out the video for the song below. Although it’s a pop song about a bad romantic relationship, its lyrics make a couple of hellish references and the video tries to imitate the game’s gothic atmosphere.
This isn’t the first time Halsey has worked with SUGA. In 2019 she collaborated with the great success of BTS Boy with Luv. This group and their music are not strangers to video games, as we have already seen them in Fortnite, Free Fire and even in Minecraft.
Despite his references, the tone of his music video, and his name, Lilith by Halsey and SUGA is not the kind of song we associate with the Blizzard saga and we don’t imagine it playing in the game Diablo IV.
Mind you, it’s not a bad song and it will certainly become a hit. It will also help to publicize this title outside of ‘gamer’ circles.
Diablo IV goes on sale on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S and for PC via Battle.net.
