Developer and distributor Frogwares revealed a new trailer for Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One. The next game in the franchise will present a 21-year-old Sherlock on the island of Cordona, applying all his scientific knowledge and with greater open world freedoms. Unlike past games.
In the six-minute gameplay sample we see the young Sherlock Holmes and future great London detective, roaming the streets of Cordona and investigating clues to uncover new information. Questioning witnesses is extremely important, as our progress in the nonlinear investigation depends on them.
This is an interesting point in the prequel. The game does not care if the players miss important clues or accuse the wrong person, the story will continue in the same way even if we untangle it in the wrong way. Of course, Sherlock’s observant sense is so well outlined that it will be able to denote relevant characteristics of NPCs.
The Brit will be able to visit five unique districts of the island, with their own alternate missions and characters. Thanks to a new disguise mechanic, the investigation turns into something similar to Hitman. Sherlock can disguise himself to go unnoticed, gain confidence and thus solve crimes and murders much faster.
Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One It will be available this year on an unspecified date, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
