The latest PS5 update is now available and finally includes one of the functions most requested by users. Although it has been in beta and could be tested if you were enrolled in the program, it is now available to everyone and you can install it today on your console. At the moment, as is usual, the update is completely voluntary, but as the days go by it will become mandatory if you want to use the console’s online functions.
In addition to the usual bug fixes and general system stability improvements, the new PS5 update includes Improvement in the speakers and microphone of the DualSense controls
With this update, in addition to the light indicator on the controls, we can also reduce the brightness of the LEDs on the console itself, ideal for when you play in the dark and don’t want to be bothered by the brightness. The functionality is similar to that of the controls, allowing you to adjust between several levels, but unlike the beep, It does not allow you to permanently disable the light indicators.
Improvements in the PS5 controller thanks to AI
Regarding the improvements to the DualSense controllers, the new PS5 update improves both playback and audio input, thanks to a new machine learning model that cancels background noise, such as ambient sound or that produced when press the buttons. This functionality was already present in the new PlayStation Pulse Elite, which includes a Microphone noise cancellation feature that works spectacularly well.
Another interesting improvement that this update includes has to do with the sharing options. Although it is not a massively used functionality, now allows viewers to mark on the screen and include emoji reactions
This new option will also be accompanied by an improvement to the PlayStation app for iOS and Android, which, although not yet available, will arrive at some point at the end of this month, and allows precisely that: to use this new Screen Sharing interaction directly from your mobile.
