Destiny Y Destiny 2 They are not games adverse to the LGBTI community. Over the years they have proudly featured ‘queer’ characters and relationships. However, there is one of these relationships that was never confirmed and has been the subject of much speculation by fans, until now.

We speak of Saint-14, the long-lost Titan Exo, and Osiris, the studious Sorcerer of the Vex. Due to the past that these two characters share in the ‘lore’ of Destiny 2, many argued that they were definitely a couple and others that they only loved each other as brothers. That debate ended. It’s official that Saint-14 is gay, just like Osiris, and that they are both together.

Until now, their relationship was romantically explored only in fan fiction and fan art. But it was already confirmed by Robert Brookes – narrative director of Destiny 2— in a Twitter thread.

Brookes, a bisexual man, says he has written Saint-14 and Osiris as gay men since he started working at Bungie. Because both characters have very reserved personalities, there was never room to make it directly clear. The problem is that these nuances are lost in an age when there is so much ‘queerbaiting’: suggesting that a character may be LGBTI without ever confirming it.

In the same thread, Brookes talks about his personal experience with his own sexual identity and is grateful to be working at Bungie. According to him, this is a company that cares about representation, listening to marginalized voices, and takes inclusion issues seriously.

There you have it confirmed, fans of Destiny 2. Saint-14 and Osiris are gay and a couple, although they may never accept it in the dialogue of the game.

Remember that expansion recently arrived Beyond the Light and that they can play it completely free if they are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass.
