This game may differ greatly in tone from previous titles in the series, but there are elements that cannot be missing from any installment of Square Enix’s emblematic franchise. One of the most iconic elements of the series are the huge yellow birds that we can ride to travel through the maps at high speed. Surely you have already found some chocobos in the adventure and you are wondering what you should do to tame them, so in this short guide we will tell you how to ride chocobos in Final Fantasy XVI.
When we go through scenery like the valleys of Rosalia we will find some wild chocobos hanging around. If we get close to them we will start a fight and we will have to defeat them. This has made some players think that it is possible to get gysahl vegetables

How to find Ambrosia, Clive’s Chocobo
We will only be able to reunite the protagonist with his mount once the plot has advanced sufficiently. We estimate that it may take 10-13 hours to get to that point, but it depends on how fast you progress through the early chapters of the game and how much you entertain yourself with optional activities. Clive should be around level 23-25.
The optional mission in which we will unlock the chocobo is called The White Winged Miracle. It will be available on the Rosaria map when we finish the story missions gloomy clouds y Release. When leaving the Golden Stable in Marta’s Rest, we will see a green optional quest indicator with a cross. The first thing to do is, obviously, talk to the man from the mission to find out that we have to save a group of “chocobo vigilantes”.
Now all we have to do is follow the mission indicator to a confrontation with the bandit group that threatens the chocobos. The only one who might give us a little trouble is their leader. Hunter (level 24), who carries a huge mallet. Still, it shouldn’t be a big problem for the level we’re at.
Once we defeat them we will witness a video sequence in which Clive recognizes his old mount and Ambrosia or “White Feather” joins him on his adventure.
By doing this we will also receive the decoration ‘ambrosia harness for Clive’s room in the hideout, Sharp Fang x60, 250 experience points and 50 renown points. Also we will unlock the bronze trophy Riding solo.
How to ride a chocobo in Final Fantasy XVI
Once we have completed the optional mission ‘The miracle of white wings’ and unlocked the chocobo, we can summon Ambrosia in any open area in ‘action mode’ by holding down ‘R3’
When we ride a chocobo in Final Fantasy XVI, colleagues like Jill will also receive one to keep up with us. We can run at full speed by pressing ‘R2’ and jump by pressing ‘X’. If we go into battle, we can attack enemies by pressing ‘square’, that will push them away but not deal much damage. It is better to get off the chocobo to fight. To get off the mount we just have to hold down ‘R3’.
We hope this guide Final Fantasy XVI on how to unlock and assemble chocobos you found helpful.
