Update 7.10 arrived on July 6 and added new “alien toys” that add to flying saucers and parasites that invaded the map a few days ago. Now we can find alien nanomachines in Fortnite and two new characters roaming the map: the alien Cortecitos (Choppy) and his robot Zyg.
What are the alien nanomachines for Fortnite?
This new manufacturing material —which we can find on the ground, on top of abductors and in the mothership— has a double function. By throwing them out, we can create a low-gravity biome that we can get in and out of. We practically start swimming when we jump and can duck to descend fast. It is the same system of the similar zone that we found in Setos Sagrados.
The alien nanomachines have another use in Fortnite: improving weapons. We can turn rifles into ray guns, pulse guns, or even a railgun. Check out the recipes below.
- Kymera Ray Gun: Alien Nanomachines + Submachine Gun, Silenced Submachine Gun or Rapid Fire Submachine Gun of Rare rarity or higher.
- Pulse Rifle: Alien Nanomachines + Assault Rifle, Heavy Assault Rifle or Burst Assault Rifle of Rare rarity or higher.
- Rail Gun: Alien Nanomachines + Sniper Rifle of Rare rarity or higher.
Where to find Zyg and Cortecitos in Fortnite

This pair of new characters can appear in one of the following places:
- In the building to the east of Sticky Swamp.
- The forest trailer park.
- In the center of the island, lower western corner of the purple zone.
- To the southwest of Pleasant Park, reaching the river.
- En the abandoned house northwest of Sandy Cliffs.
- Near the river west of Ciudad Comercio.
If we find them, we have to defeat them to get their special ray gun, a more powerful version than Kymera’s called Zyg and Cortecitos ray gun. It has infinite ammo and can charge a more powerful beam, but it overheats if we shoot it continuously.
