During the awards for the best video games this year they were made very interesting announcements beyond the winners. One of them was the sudden announcement of Hades IIwhose official trailer was presented shortly after the video of Street Fighter 6 for The Game Awards 2022, in which a new protagonist is seen.
From what we can see from the official trailer for Hades II, the gameplay will be very similar to the first installment. That is, we will have a protagonist who will have to explore the Underworld defeating powerful enemies while she receives powers and gifts from different gods and other characters. It will also be a ‘roguelike’, in which we will have to try again from the beginning if we die.
Hades was released in 2020 and was well received by the public (and we). Its great quality made him win awards, so this announcement ended up being a big surprise. However, not many details are known about this beyond the trailer.
Who is the new protagonist of Hades II
?
During the game trailer we no longer see Zagreus, the first protagonist, but a woman. She is seen fighting a hooded figure who defeats her, but who she offers to mentor her. Next, we see gameplay snippets that show off some new characters but nothing out of the ordinary.
In principle, no one would know who this woman is. However, a close look at her face reveals that she has eyes just like Zagreus: one green and one red. This only reveals that she is also the daughter of Persephone and Hades. In Greek mythology, the only sister Zagreus has is called Melinoe..
That being said, we can say that we will most likely play Melinoe.
