They already finished SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom —whose review you can read here— and want to continue playing with the sponge that lives in a pineapple under the sea? There is no new video game sponge Bob for now, but we will be able to play with him and other characters in the series in a new DLC from Minecraft.
This DLC was revealed during a recent Minecraft Now presentation dedicated to the mangroves and the Guardian of the recent wild update
As you could see in the video and in the image that accompanies this note, in this DLC of Minecraft Characters like SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton and Gary will appear. We will also visit iconic scenes from the series such as the houses of the protagonists, the streets of Bikini Bottom and the Crustaceo Cascarudo.
In these places we will live a new adventure that the developers describe as “a playable episode of the series.” Activities include crafting instruments for Squidward, catching jellyfish, and a minigame of throwing krabby patties into waves of patrons.
We still don’t know when the SpongeBob DLC will be coming to Minecraft. When asked, the developers simply said “very soon”. We will inform you when we have more information about it.
