During a special presentation at PAX 24, Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida and other members of the development team Final Fantasy XVI revealed many details of the expected DLC FFXVI: The Rising Tidethe new Eikon Leviathan and its release date.

In the DLC FFXVI: The Rising Tide We will visit a new region called Mysidia to rescue the dominant of the Eikon Leviathan. To do this we will be accompanied by a new ally called Shula.
Mysidia is located in the north of the map and, unlike the rest of the continent, still has blue skies. One of its most striking aspects is the frozen tide that surrounds it.
This place is inhabited by the Tonberries, a new “more macabre” version of a very characteristic enemy of the saga. Final Fantasy.
Leviathan and The Gate of Kairos in the DLC FFXVI: The Rising Tide
We are not only going to face the Eikon of water in The Rising Tide, but we will use it to increase the number of Clive’s skills. The call of the snake turns one of the protagonist’s arms into a firearm capable of attacking at great distances.
We will also have new post-game content: The combat challenges of The Gate of Kairos
But what we all want to know is when we can play this DLC.

Those who do not buy the DLC will still be able to enjoy a new update with:
- Quality of life improvements
- New features in photo mode
- New music for the Orchestra

During the presentation at PAX 24, Yoshida and his team confirmed that the second DLC of FFXVI with Leviathan and the new post-game content will be out on April 18, 2024.
