Came the day. After several years of waiting and a lot of anticipation, the players are finally enjoying Elden Ring. The new of Hidetaka Miyazaki —and George RR Martin— has already positioned itself as one of the best-rated games in all of history, which is no small matter. At the time of writing this post, he averages a 97 in Metacritic and 96 in Open Critic.
Now you should know that Elden Ringdespite being a fantastic adventure in general terms, has not been free of some bugs and performance issues. This situation, unfortunately, is already normal in a game that bets on a huge open world. However, there is one glitch in particular that you should pay attention to, especially if you are playing the PlayStation 5 version.
The bug in question could corrupt your save game and ruin your progress in the Midlands. Can you imagine losing your progress in a Miyazaki game? Well, nobody wants to live that torment. much less in Elden Ringwhose playable proposal can last for dozens of hours.
According to web Bandai Namco, the failure could arise in two ways. First, when you put your ps5 to sleep while you play Elden Ring. The other is that your console shuts down unexpectedly —when the power goes out in your home, for example—. Be careful, it is not certain that your saved game will be ruined when the above happens, but the study has identified that these actions are a key step to promote it.
Of course, FromSoftware has already identified what the problem is and is working on a solution. However, to avoid any scare, they recommend saving the game of Elden Ring manually —and regularly—:
“If the PS5 unexpectedly shuts down while playing games or in sleep mode, save data may not be saving correctly. We are aware of the cause of this issue and are working on a patch to fix it, but until the update is released patch, save manually by exiting the game regularly.”
It’s certainly not the optimal way to prevent it, but we recommend doing it while we wait for the update to be released. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like the patch will take long.
