On the night of Thursday March 16, Fortnite received in his store the expected ‘skins’ of two much-loved Capcom characters. From the games we’ve played since then, they’ve been quite popular, but there are players who are a bit disappointed by one of these outfits. In Fortnitethe ‘skin’ of Leon S Kennedy appears with his ‘look’ of Resident Evil 4but without his iconic jacket.
You can see what this character looks like in-game below.
The jacket that this character wears in the early hours of the game and also appears in the upcoming ‘remake’ has become an iconic item of the character and is highly desired by fans. As can be seen in comments made in forums and social networks, many decided not to purchase this new ‘skin’ due to the absence of the sheepskin ‘bomber jacket’.
What many do not know is that there is a compelling reason why Leon does not have his complete ‘look’.
Why the ‘skin’ or outfit of Leon S Kennedy in Fortnite he doesn’t have his jacket Resident Evil 4?
It turns out that the jacket or ‘bomber jacket’ that Leon wears in Resident Evil 4 is a licensed item. Their depiction in the Capcom game is licensed by Schott NYC, the company that makes and sells them.
You can find this jacket for sale in said store. It has a cost of $1,495 dollars, which is more than 7 million Colombian pesos. It is clear that the US government pays Leon very well.
Since this jacket or ‘bomber jacket’ is a licensed product, it can only appear in games like Resident Evil 4 o Fortnite with explicit permission from its licensees or by paying for its image rights. We do not know what kind of agreement Capcom has with Schott NYC, but it is clear that Epic Games decided not to pay or negotiate to have her in their game. After all, despite how iconic she is, Leon doesn’t have her on for most of the time in the game that made her famous.
What has no excuse is that Leon in Fortnite do not have your RPD uniform as an alternate style. Epic Games, how do you justify that?
