The cursed blade of Yoshimitsu, passed down among the leaders of the Manji clan for generations, becomes corrupted by an insatiable bloodlust that ultimately drives its wielder mad. In the blink of an eye, the blade infiltrates Yoshimitsu’s mind and amplifies his desire for destruction. Yoshimitsu quickly stabs himself with the blade in order to feed his thirst, but the blade becomes even more uncontrollable. Upon his return, the clan elders teach Yoshimitsu to suppress the malevolent will of the cursed sword, even if only barely. Since that day, the cursed sword has called to him: “If the owner of the voice I hear is the source of the sword’s uncontrollable nature, then I will nip it in the bud.”
Yoshimitsu’s ally, Dr. Bosconovitch, provides him with the latest reinforced armor before sending him on a journey out of Manji’s secret village to follow wherever his sword leads him.
