Riot Games ha posted a new tweet making a clear reference to an event that is close to premiering in League of Legends, the arrival of the Ruin and the black mist. Riot has been hinting all year that this event will change the game and for this it has released various cinematic trailers so we get into context.
In addition, one of the last champions, Viego, is the main antagonist of these trailers in which we see the black fog consuming entire cities in its path. As great opponents against the Ruin we have the Sentinels of Light, an order of warriors that fight against the darkness in the world of LoL, two of them (Lucian and Senna) appear in the trailers.

The arrival of the Ruin
In addition, it seems that they will receive a third booster for the Sentinels, a champion that would arrive in the next few weeks that would also belong to th is group of warriors. The patch as such, on 11.14, is scheduled for July 8, so there is still a little more than two weeks to know the news.

Today’s teaser shows us a skin of Shivanna consumed by the Ruin and a phrase: “Sentinels … why do they insist on chasing what they don’t understand?” referring to these warriors fighting the Ruin. Beyond the assumptions, the only certainty is that there will be a big event that will change the map and the interface, but the playable values will be the same.
On the other hand, the dataminers have discovered certain changes in the map to make it thematic of the event. Additionally, they discovered a new game mode codenamed “Ultimate Spellbook,” in which players can use the Ultimate ability of champions other than the one they control. This mode is already available on LoL’s PBE, although it is not confirmed that it is the same mode that will be added with the new patch that will be available on July 8.
