Apparently Rust wants to wait for users’ PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to rust before releasing the game for consoles.
A further delay was announced by Double11, the distributor team for the popular PC survival game. Released in 2018 via Steam, has remained a title with a dedicated audience within the platform.
On this occasion, the console edition will arrive from 2021, w ithout any details about the point at which it will reach the Sony and Microsoft platforms. It should be noted that in no case have the new generation consoles been mentioned.
We have a development update about Rust Console Edition. We appreciate all the interest and patience while we continue to work on this title. Facepunch Studios is most likely not on the lists of pro teams that received job kits for the new consoles. Mainly because it is a studio recognized for its work on PC, but this is just speculation.
A shame given Rust’s popularity among survival titles on the market today.
Cruel survival
If something characterizes Rust among survival games, it is its cruelty towards players, who must fight 100% against every element of the world. Hunger, tiredness and seeking refuge from the shots of other players is the constant.
There are many challenges the player can face, such as hunger, hypothermia, attacks by wild animals (mostly bears and wolves), or exposure to radiation from various radioactive zones across the island.
Despite the radiation, these areas contain the only man-made buildings at the beginning of the game and contain valuable items like firearms and components, and thus offer an incentive for the player to risk acquiring these things.
Since the game is exclusively multiplayer, attacks from other players are also another ever-present challenge. Without a game map, new players must search for buildings and use the sun to find their way around and get their belongings.
