Hello PlayStation fans! My name is Kuba and I’m Game Director at Flying Wild Hog. Today we wanted to tell you more about our upcoming Shadow Warrior 3 game, including some huge news – we can finally reveal the Shadow Warrior 3 release date!
So let’s start with what we like to see the most, which is a nice pre-rendered trailer, and then let me tell you more about what this game is all about!
Shadow Warrior 3 is a fast-paced, first-person love letter to katanas, guns, and self-expression. High octane, adrenaline-fueled action, crazy explosions and spectacular free-running motion, all served up in a colorful, Oriental-inspired fantasy world. Everything is designed to let your action juices flow like water through a burst dam. And the flow is fast. Really fast. Shoot first, ask questions later, because most of the time the answer is “Boom!”.
The principle of our game is simple. You are an ex-Yakuza mercenary, whose lightning fighting skills are matched only by your good words. The story begins after the apocalyptic climax of Shadow Warrior 2. Nearly bringing the world to an untimely end, you accidentally opened up a multi-dimensional prison cell containing a massive world-eating dragon. Now you find yourself in the middle of an apocalyptic hellscape and, more importantly, with your mojo lost, you’re forced to team up with your nemesis, ex-billionaire Orochi Zilla, and newly recruited Witch Supreme Motoko. , to right your wrongs . However, the road to redemption is riddled with not only ultra-malicious Yokai demons, but an equally damning mistrust between your team of cut-price heroes.
In order to defeat this badass dragon, you must awaken a power trapped within an ancient artifact. Unfortunately, the Ancients were devoured by the dragon during the doomsday event, but there is one last item that can still be used to pierce the dragon’s impenetrable scales: the Mask of Hoji, an heirloom from your late and only friend. To awaken this power, the duo must enlist the help of Motoko, the last remaining witch of the Kumo Brotherhood, an organization so secret that no one knows what they do, why they exist, or where they keep their clubhouse. And that raccoon you saw in the trailer? It’s a Tanuki – a representation of the power of Motoko, a guardian spirit. As cute as he is, he fights like a demon, smells like trash, and eats just about anything.
Oh and wait until you see the gameplay. It is freedom in abundance; take the approach that appeals to you the most. Want to go head to head with blazing guns? Sure. Do you find yourself in a brawling mood and want to cut monsters to minced meat with a katana? Knock yourself out. No restraint, just go crazy! In fact, why not combine them all and start with your weapons, then go for the chi-blast, blast your way to safety and spice it all up with some awesome finishing moves? Once you master the combination of all these styles, you will become a force to be reckoned with!
The upgrade system gives you even more opportunities to go monster crazy when it comes to combat. The arenas in which you will fight have been specially designed to encourage you to use all of the aforementioned fighting styles, in any combination. The only thing that limits you is your imagination and the classic levels allowed us to keep the plot consistent.
So thank you for watching our trailer and joining me in this article. Hope you like what you saw and that Shadow Warrior 3 tickled your fancy – even a little. Shadow Warrior 3 is coming to PlayStation on March 1. For real! We can’t wait to see how you deal with those pesky demons. And whatever you do, don’t forget that dragon!
