It’s been quite a while since fans received a significant update on The Division 2. Ubisoft’s most successful looter shooter game to date, the game has seen its fair share of changes in the years since its release. While Ubisoft was ending support for the game, fans of The Division 2 made sure it would get new content. Little has been heard of the game since that announcement was made, but that’s changing. Unfortunately, it is not all good news.
In an official blog post, Ubisoft shared some updates on what The Division 2 fans can expect in the near future. One of the most significant revelations is that The Division 2 specialization system will receive a revamp in the near future. Ubisoft, unfortunately, didn’t provide much more information than that, although fans can expect more details on the renewal in just a few days.
According to Ubisoft, fans will receive a video presentation “as soon as this Thursday” that breaks down the specialization renewal. The video will feature expert game designer Trick Dempsey and will be the first in the returning “Intelligence Annex” series, which will release monthly episodes until the reveal of the next major update. It’s a similar system to what Halo Infinite has been making since its delay.

Speaking of delays, there was some unfortunate news contained in the blog posts. According to the publication, the development team has made the decision to move the “new season, game mode and associated content release to February 2022.” The goal is for the Ubisoft Massive team to be able to pave the way for The Division 2 title updates in 2022, so it’s easy to understand why the move was necessary. However, it is another great update to a game that will be released in February 2022, which is currently a full window.
However, there are more things that fans can look forward to. There is an event scheduled for when season 7 ends in December, and season 8 will be officially revealed in January. It’s true that Ubisoft has a lot of information to bundle into a blog post, even if there aren’t many details on what fans will receive.
The news comes at an interesting time. Destiny 2, which is The Division 2’s biggest rival, is in a period of limbo with its longest season. It also has the massive Witch Queen expansion scheduled to launch in February, the same window as the new content for The Division 2. There’s also the question of when fans will see The Division: Heartland, a free game with no release window that was leaked ago. a few months.
The Division 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
